Australian Heritage Specialists has been involved in a ground-breaking research project in the Whitsundays, creating a Queensland-first historical weather report.
The report is designed to aid the Whitsunday Regional Council (WRC) with its planning for climate change for the region, which has more than 500 kilometres of coastline.
The project has been supported by the State Government’s QCoast2100 funding program which is designed to help coastal communities prepare for rising threats caused by climate change.
The WRC was one of the first local councils to receive the funding to further develop its Coastal Hazard Adaption Strategy.
