WATCH: Tour Naldham House with AHS

AHS Senior Heritage Consultant and Team Lead, Julia Pritchard, takes us for an all-access tour of the recently restored Naldham House in Brisbane’s CBD – including showing you areas and details many of you won’t have seen!

Our team oversaw every aspect of the entire restoration and fit-out of Naldham House, as the iconic State Heritage listed landmark was transformed into a prestigious restaurant while still maintaining its heritage appeal.

We were engaged early on to provide ongoing heritage support and expert advice for the ‘base-build’ program where the building underwent some majors works to bring it back to good condition and give it the structural integrity required to accommodate restaurant, bar, and function spaces.

Once base-build works were complete, AHS worked closely with DAP & CO’s design team to fitout the interior of the building.

Naldham House was first constructed in 1866 by the Australasian Steam Navigation Company, before changing hands many times across its 150-year life, with each owner making alterations along the way. Key details within the building remain, though, which is why we wanted to show you around!

The building is a great example of the importance of adaptive re-use of heritage places, ensuring that significant places continue to be used, and their historical context understood, in a contemporary environment.

Watch as Julia offers an all-access tour of Naldham House, from the basement to the upper level.
