WATCH: Tour Willards Farm with AHS
Director at AHS, Benjamin Gall, was recently invited to accompany Redland City Mayor, Karen Williams, and construction team Baroque Group around the iconic 1860s Willards Farm in September.
Willards Farm will sit front and centre within the 62-hectare Birkdale Community Precinct, the largest community project ever for Redland City Council, and will be restored as part of the proposed works.
Back in 2016 the iconic property was facing demolition, prompting the forward-thinking Council to purchase it for $1.45 million to protect its heritage and breathe new life into the important buildings on the site.
AHS is proud to be preserving local heritage for generations to come, as the official heritage consultant for the ongoing Willards Farm project.
So far, we have developed heritage design and master planning advice, undertaken archaeological excavations and monitoring programs, Conservation Management Plans, a Cultural Heritage Handbook and more.
Our original Conservation Management Plan recommended the site be re-nominated for entry onto the Queensland Heritage Register, which Redland City Council accepted.
We were proud to have showed Cr Williams and media around Willards Farm last month, as we look forward to commencing further works at the location.
