WEATHER RESEARCH HELPS PLAN FOR CLIMATE CHANGE

Australian Heritage Specialists has been involved in a ground-breaking research project in the Whitsundays, creating a Queensland-first historical weather report. The report is designed to aid the Whitsunday Regional Council with its planning for climate change for the region, which has more than 500 kilometres of coastline.

AHS ASSIST ST COLUMBA’S WILSTON

AHS has worked with The Friends of St Columba’s to prepare a Conservation Management Plan for the 100-year-old St Columba’s Church at Wilston in Brisbane. Designed by prominent Brisbane architect G.H.M. Addison, the church was opened in 1915 and is an important community landmark.

AHS has completed a Heritage Signage Strategy for one of Brisbane’s most regarded State-listed buildings, The Cook Terraces at Milton. Built in 1888-89 by Brisbane builder Joseph Cook, the building was constructed as a row of six two-storey brick houses with views of the Brisbane River.

STATE AWARD FOR ADAPTIVE REUSE AND GREEN ENERGY

AHS Director Linda Gall and Principal Consultant Benjamin Gall have received a National Trust Queensland David Eades Award for their work on a State heritage residence at Manly. AHS has significant experience developing contemporary uses for heritage places and can tailor a program to suit clients’ needs.
